Catching Up

I've been wanting to update this site for the past month and a half but the more behind I get, the more posts I need to write to catch up, and I get even more behind. I've decided I just need to start fresh and instead of writing a whole bunch of back posts, I'm just going to recap the top 10 things that have happened since I last posted:

10. My mom and dad came for their last visit of the summer and got as much of their Aida fill as possible before heading back to Korea. I think my mom took about 697 pictures of her granddaughter in the weeks she was here visiting.

9. The hair on the back of Aida's head has all rubbed off and she now has a big bald spot. So from the front she looks like me but from the back she looks like her dad. :)

8. When I'm rocking Aida before bed, right before she nods off she looks at me with heavy-lidded eyes and smiles. Melts my heart every time. Then she tenses up her whole body, purses her lips and makes a face like a turtle, then relaxes and falls asleep.

7. I returned to work and have been adjusting to days away from my baby and the constant pumping. I think the transition has been relatively smooth but I will be happy when I get to be a full-time mom.

6. Aida has found her voice and isn't afraid to use it. Instead of crying, she now likes to yell to get attention. She yells really loud ahhhhh-ahhhh-ahhhhh's with her mouth as far open as it will go until you notice her. It's totally cute.

5. Zack had his 32nd birthday last Friday. We ordered Thai food and I made a cake. I love my husband so much and I know I couldn't do any of this without him.

4. When I'm putting Aida to bed, I sing to her. The past couple of nights Aida has started to sing along. She softly coos and ahhhs, staring intently at my mouth. This is so cute I can't even stand it.

3. A couple days ago I was playing with Aida on our bed and she was arching her back and kicking her legs. Eventually she rolled right over. I know it was mostly due to being on the soft bed but that didn't stop me from cheering her on like a crazy person.

2. We bought a new car! We traded in the Audi for a 2005 Ford Explorer. We love it, it has about 6 times as much room as the Audi and we don't have to take out a second mortgage on the house every time the check engine light comes on.

1. Aida turned four months old today and the past four months have been some of the hardest and most rewarding of my life.
