And the hits just keep on coming....literally

So as most of you know by now, Zack got laid off. I guess it was pretty inevitable considering the company that he works for but it wasn't something we were expecting. His last day will be next Thursday. While losing a job is always lame and a stressful time we are optimistic that this will mean good things for us. Zack was getting burnt out on his job and now has a chance to find something that he will really enjoy. I'm still working so we are hoping to use this time for Zack to find a job that he really likes.

And then yesterday I got rear-ended on my way home from work. I wasn't hurt besides a little whiplash resulting in a stiff neck and back but the crazy guy behind me wasn't wearing his seatbelt (at least I don't think he was) and he smashed his head on the windshield and had to go to the hospital. He had a bloody nose and mouth and was highly agited that he had hit me. He said he just wasn't paying attention and this was his 3rd accident in a short time.

Luckily, I didn't have Aida in the car with me and I was driving the old car. I have to wait till Saturday to pick up the police report to see if the guy had any insurance.

This was a minor accident that always serves to remind you that it could have been much worse and makes you thankful for all that you do have. And I am. I'm thankful for Zack and Aida and our little house and our supportive family and I think we will end up in a better place when all is said and done.
