Korea & Thailand

We had SO MUCH FUN on our vacation to Thailand & Korea. After a long (12 hours) flight to Seoul, South Korea, my dad picked us up at the airport and we spent one night in Korea before going back to the airport the next day for a 6 hour flight to Phuket, Thailand. Aida, of course, did great on the planes as long as she could crawl around and touch everything, she was fine.

Thailand was beautiful and hot. The Marriott Resort where we stayed was the nicest resort I have ever been to. Three pools, right on the ocean, lots of plants and trees and flowers and paths and gorgeousness. Our "room" was a two bedroom villa with a living room, dining area, balcony, fuLl kitChen ANd Air conditioning. (The caps in that last sentence are from Aida hitting the shift key while I type.)

We went to the pool every day and ate amazing Thai food and went into town and got cheap massages and a custom made suit. The entire area is completely rebuilt and its hard to even imagine what it was like during the tsunami and the aftermath.

After eight beautiful days in paradise, we went back to Seoul. This was the more laid back portion of our trip. We went shopping, ate amazing Korean food (and some not so amazing Korean food), hung out at the apartment, visited my mom's school and went on a tour of the DMZ. I was able to show Zack my high school and all the places I used to hang out. This is a rare thing for me, getting to actually show somebody where I lived as a teenager so it was great to bring Zack to Korea and show him around the city. We also happened to be in Korea during my mom's 50th birthday. I went out to dinner with her and her teacher friends and then we opened presents at home.

The best part of the vacation, of course, was just being able to hang out with my mom & dad and AJ and for Aida to get to spend time with her grandma, grandpa and uncle.
